This book is just a compilation of poorly! translated excerpts of newspaper articles and what appear to be operational logs of the German air force at Puck. It repeats incidents and uses words I've never seen such as " aerostats" and "aviatec" and "drownded". Some times you can understand poor translations with a little thought, but not in this case.
I was expecting to see photos of the base and the aviators instead I got a lot of family pics such as those on page 20 to 22 and the ones on page 24 which are repeated on page 69. There are 2 different pictures of someones great grandmother in her dog cart but of course she is not identified as are few people in the other family pics. Not only are many of the pictures irrelevant to what the book is supposedly about, but some of them are so faded that the people or objects in them look as if they are in a smoke filled room. On the bottom of page 63 is a small photo that I would like to know what I'm supposed to be seeing.
Even though there are some interesting photos in it and some nice color profiles of planes in both German and Polish service I can not recommend this book.

Każda książka Aeronaut Books jest tip top, a tu takie coś...

Wydawca chwali : ))) może nie doczytał... nie wiem, książek wydawcy/ autora nie znam - pisze o konstrukcjach lotniczych, co samo w sobie mało mnie kręci... Wydawane przez jego wydawnictwo monografie niemieckich oddziałów lotniczych, książka o belgijskim lotnictwie 1914 - 1918, wielotomowy słownik biograficzny lotników odznaczonych PLM (już szesnaście jest) oraz nadchodzące francuskie asy (osiem tomów) i inne są z najwyższej półki...

The author, Andrzej Artur Olejko, is a noted Polish historian and professor specializing in military and aviation history. He is the author of many books, the most recent in English being The Habsburg’s Wings 1914. He is planning to continue this series of books about the A/H air service and bring more light to this little-known topic.

I have lists of roughly 440 flyers who served or were educated there pre- and during the War. I hope that the coming book can describe how important Putzig really was for the German Marine aviation.

No i tyle, uwagami po lekturze się nie podzielił (zawał? tylko z jakiego powodu...), lista, którą posiada też pozostała nieznana (polonika!), zakładam, że w rzeczonej książce jej nie ma.

Nie mogę wygooglać żadnej opinii Michaela Schmeelke na temat tej książki. Schmeelke jest największym autorytetem (dla mnie także) w sprawach lotniczo - brzegowych, niemieckich. Znam i mam wszystkie jego publikacje wydane przez Aeronaut Books, VDM, Verlag Scherzer, artykuły rzucone tu i tam - choćby do Propellera - klasa sama w sobie. Żałować należy zatem wielce, że Puck nie trafił w jego ręce. Temat "zaspawany", w Aeronaut nowej odsłony nie będzie. Szkoda.

Nie chciało się zajrzeć na stronę nr 3 działu "Książki" a tam ten sam temat założył Kolega Albert w dniu 23.09.2019.
Czy nasz ulubiony "skanerolog" nie opublikował nic w ciągu tych 2 lat że musimy zajmować się takimi starociami?
Aha, jeden z Kolegów stwierdził wtedy:
"Zaiste, jeszcze tego potrzeba polskiej nauce, żeby za granicą miała twarz mistrza skanu i kompilatorstwa..."
Mam więc pytanie;
czy zagraniczne wydawnictwa zostały powiadomione o nagannej działalności autora "Marinefliegerstation Putzig 1911-1920"?

Nie wiem czy opublikował, zauważyłem w ofercie nabywanego przeze mnie hurtowo Aeronauta, to się zapytałem.

Zagraniczne wydawnictwa mają to w... swego czasu informowałem o działalności pewnego złodzieja - panie, co nas to obchodzi, kradnie w Polsce...
